Schedule, Checklist, Day-of Coordination
Here we go! My very first blog post as the proud owner of Zilla.
I’m feeling a mix of emotions! Getting real honest with myself on how I want to spend my days, nights and thoughts during this one life. I am blessed by the opportunity to put this idea to action and so, 'thank you!' for reading and watching my journey.
With my initial pass at ‘Okay, who can help me get this thing called, Zilla, going?’ Christa, with Christa Taylor Photography definitely made the short list. Christa and I met at a small networking event hosted by Crave, some…...6ish years ago! I think 5 or 6 ladies attended. We bonded over entrepreneurship, solving the world’s problems and admired Christa for sharing how her career evolved from fashion design to photography.
From an email to her that started something like, ‘Hey lady, soooo, I’m starting a wedding event planning company, focusing on virtual services to help brides get through all the craziness’. Christa responded within maybe a half hour that read, “OMG you need to do my sister’s wedding!”
I am so honored and humbled that she trusted me to help her sister, Brooke, the final lady in their family (of 8 kids btw!) to tie the knot.
Meeting Brooke and Jonathan, no joke, I couldn’t stop smiling. Their relationship and love for each other lights up a room. Their excitement for the beginning of this journey was contagious. The community that surrounds them is true, loving and…..ready to party, flash mob style!
For icing on the cake, the venue was at Eastside Exchange, downtown Portland. The big day brought the most amazing weather for a stunning view from the rooftop, for Brooke and Jonathan’s first look. The day was complete with smiles, a wine-inspired color palette and and dancing...and dancing....and dancing, the night away.
