When clients become friends. Bella and Jon actually searched me out during the wedding just to hang out and say hello. Talk about all the good feels. Bella and Jon embraced heritage and tradition to create a really special experience for their guests. Amber and Nate, are just good people - and funny, and charming, and know how to cut-a-rug - and I just love them. Coming to me from another planner, they amazed me by their immediate trust. These two worked to balance all the things, their adorable daughter, both badass working professionals, a big move to Hood River. Nate took on signage and paper goods, being an amazing designer and all. Amber collected terracotta from the coast to decorate the tables, love it! Yes, that is how it tends to go when you are planning a wedding…all the things seem to happen. Zilla is ready and HERE.FOR.YOU!

What I LOVE about Maddy and Chris is they weren’t so concerned with wedding trends, but looking to be very intentional with how to communicate their interests throughout every decision they made. Throughout our time together, we worked through questioning sexual identity, how to navigate close family members who have different religious views, working with evolving friendships between the elopement to an intimate cocktail party 2 years later - all to protect their mental health, the story they are looking to create and the life they are traveling together. They have 'gone there' with me, and I'm forever grateful for their openness and trust.

One inspiration photo from the Father of the Bride. Four months to plan an entire wedding from start to finish - Full service at its finest. Both Liz and Joel are amazing people. Each residents in a COVID unit working 70-80 hour weeks. They deserved more than anyone, a memorable day, with the people who love them dearly. All the vendors busted a$$ to pull this day off, and the Father of the Bride came over to me at the end of the night and said "She said it was 'perfect'. Thank you for making this happen for my family."

Shelby got engaged, Shelby then reached out to me - and asked all.the.questions! One thing I notice is that a lot of couples apologize for not knowing all the things about weddings. Please m'dear, it's okay. It's actually super positive, because honestly, you probably have a life, and want to maintain that life. Shelby and Leah protected that life by not getting so caught up in 'what you're supposed to do' but hiring someONE trusted to help them navigate. As a result, Shelby and Leah were empowered to 'keep it simple' and very THEM. Which makes my heart so happy.

Clients give me a lot of 'gifts' - these gifts come in the form of planning a wedding in 3 months, 300-person guest lists, a budget of $5k, 10 family members supplying all the catering, a job promotion, moving homes. These are MY FAVORITE gifts - because they spark the most creativity! Rosy and Dan are the best gift givers ;)

Driven. That's how I would describe Christine and Dillon. Both are killing in it in their prospective careers. While working with them, it was awesome to watch how they support each other. Super inspiring. At the same time, they decided to move homes. You know - when it rains, it pours. And that's what's so fun, I get to cover the 'wedding base', which allows my clients to take advantage of opportunity, not view it as a burden. That's huge!!

Kim and Travis are Hall of Fame clients. We still keep in touch, and have become close friends. The running joke now is that we start conversations with "Remember that time you planned our wedding 3 times?!" It's funny now - but yes, it's true. Original plan was for them to get married on the Groom's parents property. Queue pandemic, change of plan. Queue unhealthy levels of smoke in the air the week of the wedding, queue a parent who won't come to the wedding if they have to wear a mask, queue a member of the wedding party saying not-so-nice things.....queue - "the best day of our lives!" That only happens with an advocate in your corner, solid vendor relationships and A LOT of "calm".
